Reading a comic book is both a game and a method of problem-solving. The non-linear structure of the reading experience, the link between text and image, and the sequence of panels on a page all engage the reader in new and difficult ways.

One of the main reasons that people enjoy reading comic books is that they provide an opportunity for escapism. Life can be difficult at times, dull at times, or just plain unpleasant, so escapism is necessary from time to time.
