Issue two begins NOW.

HERE WE GO. Corporate Skull issue two begins today with a big fat six-page opener (six if you count the cover, yeah?), Just enough to start us off in a few different places and get back to Skull at the end. If you’re reading this on RSS or something, i hope it hasn’t uploaded screwy or out of joint – the first five pages were backdated (i find this the easiest way to do it with the way Comicpress is set up). If you’re new to Corporate Skull, why not start by reading the whole first issue to see how we got to this terrible sweary place.

So issue two is where things start getting fun. While I needed issue one to show the origins of Skull, issue two will start to show how he fits into the world. And more than that, it’ll start to take the series in the direction it’s going to go, something which hasn’t really been indicated yet. If you think this is all about a Skull working in an office, thats only a tiny part of it, and the end of issue two will start opening it all up.

In the meantime, please do enjoy! And if you enjoyed, comment or share it around. The support for issue one was pretty overwhelming, and very appreciated, thanks so much!
(There’ll be another page later this week)

Well we’re two days away from the start of issue two, so here’s a handy little summary of the key events in issue one. It’s on official Curb paper, so it must be true.

Where we go from here.

So Corporate Skull issue two starts in about two weeks time. Initially I intended to spend this time writing it, but as it happens I got a little over-keen towards the end of issue one and wrote issue two alongside it. I’ve finished inking a handful of pages too. But I’d like to take this short break to build up a bit of a backlog, I just need to find a day or two spare to work on it properly. This way, hopefully we’ll be able to do a few more twice-weekly updates, get this story thundering along.
Issue one was very much an ‘origins’ story for Corporate Skull (it was rather unimaginatively called that until the last minute), establishing our hero, the characters around him and point us in the direction we want to go. Issue two is going to turn that on its head. In my mind Skull isn’t yet made as a character, who he is will be shaped and defined over the first four issues. And then beyond. The full story of Corporate Skull (however many issues it is) is about him becoming who he’s supposed to be (as the final page of issue one hints to), and clawing his way through events to get there. And those events will be pretty mental, the tube-train explosion is nothing in comparison. Issue two will start to show us the wider picture.
Sorry, babbling. Also, excited. See you back here in two weeks!

ps. hey y’know i’ve started seeing Corporate Skull fanart floating around, if anyone wants to do any I would of course be humbled, maybe we could collect it together on the site. Send it in!

Issue One done!

And with today’s page (an epilogue of sorts), that’s issue one complete!

Thank you SO much to everyone who has read, enjoyed and spread the word about Skull. I’ve seen a lot of reviews, a lot of podcast mentions and a lot of general recommendations about it bouncing around the internets, and i’m really appreciative of all of it. Especially since when it first started, there wasn’t that much to go on, but still people were digging it. Me, I was real keen to get the story moving along, much as I wanted to spend time building some characters at the beginning, I was getting kind of itchy to get into some hard Skull action. So now we have our Skull, we have ourselves a comic.

You can read Corporate Skull from the start by clicking links above the comic, or the cover here.

If you want to comment or share Corporate Skull around, please do. Word of mouth keeps these things afloat, and if you can think of any way to help spread the word I’d love to hear it. Anything anyone can do to get Skull to more people is, needless to say, VERY appreciated. If you do interviews/reviews of Skull let me know! Or if you wanna just chat about what you think’s going on, i’ll try and reply to comments more often!

And oh yeah, issue two. Lets meet back here on friday and talk about when.
